The Calgary City Royals pride ourselves on delivering a cost conscious and competitive program offering that balances the scale of a high caliber baseball experience with reasonable fees.
The fee elements are broken down into the following cost recovery sections:
· Uniforms and apparel packages
· Field rentals and permit costs
· Tournament entry fees
· Umpire fees
· Baseball Alberta registration, player and league fees
· Consumables (baseballs / chalk / incidentals like sanitizers)
· *Travel and accommodation are not funded by the team’s budgets
Many of the enclosed fees are variable and the club's Treasurer (appointed annually) acts as an independent team official to manage and administer funds. The Royals have a dedicated team bank account and every month the team accounts are reconciled and available to families. No coach is paid and all of the team's officers are volunteers. Throughout the season there are fundraising opportunities and all donations are welcome to help lower individual player costs.
Depending on tournaments and field rental fees, the average cost per player will range from $1700 to $1800. These are estimates and all offer letters for the 2023 season will receive a draft budget.
